PHOTOGRAMMETRIC TECHNIQUE FOR ANALYZING RAINDROP SIZE DISTRIBUTION

Rainfall erosivity and rainfall kinetic energy are predominantly affected by the droplet size distribution characteristics. This study aims to determine raindrop with different intensities in East Malaysia using photographic method MATLAB image processing tools. A total of five natural ranges were analyzed: 5.51 mm hr-1, 14.20 28.80 32.41 hr-1 58.11 hr-1. digital camera fast capturing mode was used capture falling raindrops droplets then processed distribution. It found that captured diameters within range 0.1 5.0 mm, a higher portion fell between 1.0 mm. The results also showed would promote formation larger sizes, i.e., from lower tended result drop counts smaller sizes <1.0 modified tools had proved shorter analysis duration accuracy determination than human visual system. novelty this contributes understanding equatorial properties. enhances soil erosion rate estimation. findings demonstrate capability photogrammetric techniques for
